Key facts:
The only bodily fluids that can contain and transmit the virus are blood, semen, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, breast milk, and pre-seminal fluid (precum). It cannot be transmitted through saliva or sweat.
Undetectable = Untransmittable - It is now accepted science that if a person living with HIV has an undetectable viral load, they will not transmit the virus to their sexual partners.
HIV has the potential to live inside syringes or needles for several weeks, but in air or on surfaces, it cannot live long outside the body.
