HIV Vaccination-The Critical role of Medication Adherence in HIV Management

As a healthcare professional, I recognize that while an effective HIV vaccine is still in development, antiretroviral therapy (ART) remains key to managing HIV. Strict adherence to prescribed medication helps suppress the virus, prevents drug resistance, and improves patient health.

As a clinical Pharmacist I believe that we healthcare professionals should focus on open communication which helps to builds patient trust and encourages consistent treatment and we should also focus on barriers like stigma, side effects, and mental health, and providing personalized education.
By offering personalized education and counselling, healthcare professionals can empower patients to manage challenges, maintain adherence, and achieve better long-term outcomes.
