The Best Turkey Burger

I have serious fitness goals, but that doesn’t mean I want to eat bland food. These healthier burgers will not only give you a protein-packed entree, but they are incredibly versatile and can be topped with anything or absolutely nothing.

Serving size: 1 burger
Makes 4 servings

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

Turkey burger ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey breast (I use 93 percent lean)
  • 1 tablespoon of brown mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1/4 cup of parsley
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Directions for making the turkey burgers

  1. In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients except for the olive oil. Mix well.
  2. Form into four 1/2 inch thick patties.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet on medium heat, making sure all of the pan is coated.
  4. Cook the patties in the oiled until golden and cooked all the way through (about 5 minutes on each side.)
  5. Dress how you wish, just remember that condiments and toppings add extra calories
