Let’s Talk About It: My HIV Positive Heterosexual Issues

Hi, my name is Alberto Pérez Bermúdez and I found out that I was HIV positive when I was 18 years old.

I’m a long term survivor for 32 years now. Thanks to God for that. I’m an HIV positive heterosexual and Hispanic community leader. I would like to talk to anyone who is hiv positive heterosexual and Hispanic man so we can work together on HIV and heterosexual issues. We need to do it. I have done a lot of positive things in my HIV community. Until there is a cure, we need to unite and let’s work together on HIV issues.

Hi Alberto, thank you for telling your story and I agree we need to unite and work together. As Casey mentioned in her comment, we have team members from all walks of life and we each have our own perspective and ways we can support each other. I'm also in a heterosexual relationship and we do have our own set of issues to contend with. What ideas can you share that we might use? Thanks again for your comment!

Alafia (Peace) Alberto, It sounds like you are doing some really good work in your community. I understand the need to connect with other heterosexual men who are living with HIV. I think there is a great deal of stigma with regards to that populations. I am sure it seems that must of the discussions f=are about gay men. Keep putting yourself out there and i am sure you will find community,
