Why is there such a somewhat ugly stigma with HIV?

I've been positive since 2006, and I got it from a lady I married. She left me and later died in 2012.

But anyway, I've tried to date and once I disclose, women run like the world is on fire!!

Why???

  1. Hi there! Thanks so much for sharing. It seems that many often place stigma on a matter they are not fully aware of. Educating is key! The more people are educated, the easier it will be for them to make an honest informed decision for themselves. Continue being yourself and being truthful. I'm hoping your dating experience will get better 😀

    1. Alafia (Peace) What a great question. It is asked often by us who are living with HIV and from those who support us. Please understand that nearly 40 years after the start of this pandemic far too many still have not done their own work to educate and dialogue about sexual health. It seems that we have to continue educating the people around us. I want to encourage you to not give up. I am in a long term relationship with a woman who remains HIV negative. There are women who will love you just the way you are. Khafre (Team Member)
