Elisa test fouth generation

The ELISA fourth-generation HIV test is very close to becoming reactive. Is there any risk of HIV?
I was exposed on July 12. I had protected vaginal sex using a condom. The massage therapist also gave me oral sex (blow job), sucked my penis, and there was mutual kissing and sucking. I am very worried.

  1. Hello , I can hear from your question that you are feeling concerned about potential risk. First I want to clarify, we are not medical professionals here and cannot give medical advice for your safety. We do have an editorial article with information about estimated transmission risk, https://h-i-v.net/transmission-risks. Please note from the article that the risk for penile-vaginal intercourse is low, with a similarly low risk with receptive oral sex.

I'm also linking some information about transmission in general https://h-i-v.net/transmission, which indicates that HIV cannot be transmitted through saliva. Of course, only HIV testing will give you a definitive answer. We have some information on types of tests including their window of effective testing, https://h-i-v.net/test-types.

I hope some of this information is helpful and eases some of your fears. Please know that this community is here for you, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have other questions or could use some support. Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
