  1. Hi . I want to note that we are not medical professionals and for your protection cannot offer medical advice or diagnostics over the internet. It is great that you have reached out when you are so concerned and people here understand. That said, it is a good sign that the person you were with tested negative. You mention the window period and I want to share with you this article on types of HIV tests, which includes information on the window periods: https://h-i-v.net/test-types. Also, I want to share this article on HIV transmission risks, which notes the risk percentage for insertive penile-vaginal intercourse: https://h-i-v.net/transmission-risks. Of course, the only way to be sure is to be tested and the article I shared on tests can serve as guide for your window. Please feel free, if you like, to keep us posted on how you are doing. 1. hey please answer few more questions for me i will be thankful,
The test i made was showing HIV : C reactive protien = non reactive (-ve)
And kindly tell me what is this test and whats the window period of it? And one more thing that girl said she had typhoid so can typhoid cause rash or pimples on legs and abdomen? Now i am feeling hot and raise in temperature in some parts of my body most of the time are legs

    2. Hi . I want to stress again that we are not medical professionals and cannot give medical advice or interpret medical results over the internet. I can say that C-reactive protein is a test for inflammation levels (see: https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/c-reactive-protein-test/about/pac-20385228). It has been used for testing for various things in relation to HIV, so the results would depend upon what the test was being administered for and would take a medical professional to interpret. In relation to typhoid, it may have a rash associated with it (see: https://www.pennmedicine.org/for-patients-and-visitors/patient-information/conditions-treated-a-to-z/typhoid-fever), but we cannot advise on your particular symptoms. The only way to properly determine HIV status is through testing. Best, Richard (Team Member)

  2. Ok thanks one more thing i forgot to mention
Like she already had the symptoms on the day of my exposure
Means she was infected more than 14 days already before, after my exposure or that day i made her do a test which was after 17 days of that day, means she got tested more than 32 days after her possible exposure and the results came negative so it can be conclusive or no?

    1. Hi . We cannot make conclusive statements over the internet on test results. As the article on types of tests (which again can be found here: https://h-i-v.net/test-types) notes, different tests have different window periods, so it is important to know the type of test you are using. 3. I am feeling too much stomach sick from yesterday can this be due to stress i am getting from all this? Also i was thinking about why the doctor made that crp test instead of normal anti body test

    1. stress can definitely cause many physical symptoms. We know our emotional health has a big impact on our physical health. This might be a good article to take a look at, it's understandable you might have trouble managing stress given all you're going through. https://h-i-v.net/living/mind-body-balance

Do you have contact with your doctor's office? You'll hear from many here about being your own advocate in doctor's appointments, I think you should definitely ask if you are wondering. Are you considering getting another test? We can help you find a place if you are looking for one. - Liz (Team Member)

  4. I just did one more test today it came negative it was the 26th day of my exposure it was a strip test done by blood taken from hand vein

    1. how are you doing? It sounds like you did an at-home test, is that right? I know they have different 'window periods' before the test can be considered reliable - more on that here: https://h-i-v.net/clinical/home-testing-options

Have you yourself gone for a test at a clinic or with a doctor? I know it can be hard to do for many reasons, but wondered what you think. Each test has a different window period, with the shortest window period being about ten to 33 days, and you may have more options for testing if you go to the doctor. https://h-i-v.net/test-types - Liz (Team Member)
