Scared to death

I met a guy 4 weeks ago. We engaged in fingering and frotting, no oral sex and Im sure no penetration had happend, I thought of taking pep but I was told no penetration = no risk. However on the 3rd week I developed symptoms like runny nose, mild fever (37.3°c), wet cough and chills. I made a rapid ab/ag on the first day the days appeared and it was negative. Should I repeat the test? Was I really not in a risk?

  1. HI . I understand that you are concerned and want to provide some information. It sounds like from what you describe that there was no transmission of bodily fluid (blood, semen, breast milk, vaginal secretions) that is in contact with an open membrane. This article provides more information on differences in HIV transmission risk: https://h-i-v.net/transmission-risks. It is, of course, good that the test result came back negative. The question is the type of test and the corresponding test window period. This article on types of tests discusses these things: https://h-i-v.net/test-types. Hope this information is helpful.
