HIV+ for 30 plus years, still undetectable taking just Complera at this time, but.....

Greeetings- First time posting, 66 year old male, undetectable for at least 20+ years (hiv+ since 198😎, still testing undetectable, taking Complera for probably 15+ years. Broke my back (Sacrum) in the early winter of 2019, after a very minor (my opinion) fall in my driveway on Ice in February/ March of 2019. Broke my Sacrum in a few places requiring surgery with a titanium , Eiffel tower looking structure now holding my broken back together. Recently learned of a class action suit against the maker of Complera as well as other drugs using TFD ingredients. Had a bone density test which confirmed that I do in fact have bone density issues ( predecessor to Osteoporosis ). Should I ask my HIV+ doctor about switching medication to curb this degradation of my Sacrum and other related important bone material? If so, is there a preferred replacement medication that has a proven successor to Complera? Please advise. Thanks in advance!

  1. , thank you for posting these questions about bone density, which can affect people living with HIV. While we are not medical professionals that could recommend an alternative treatment, I can provide some information that I hope can help inform your conversations with your health care provider. 1. Alafia (Peace) So sorry to hear about your back issues. We hope that you find relief. It sounds like you need to have an extensive conversation with your provider. We are not medical doctors and I don't have any experience with your current treatment. Good luck. Khafre (H-I-V.net Team Member)
