Exposure to potential HIV positive person

Hello,

I have just gotten off a date from a street worker who (after the date ended....) told me she had encounters with HIV positive people, and she also doesn't use protection occasionally.

I have naturally used protection, no kissing, oral intercourse by her. I have ejaculated on my own, and in the process I have somewhat 'scratch' the tip of my penis with I had that had a mixture of vaginal liquids as well as Durex lube.

First, what are the chances I may have gotten infected given the circumstances, assuming she tested positive?

Second, what is the praxis in terms of testing myself? Is there something I can do right away, or do I need to wait several days as I'm reading online?

Thank you all for the help.

  1. PS: no bleeding involved in the 'scratch,' just a red-ish line.

    1. WorriedUser Hello,
Although we are not medical professionals I would like to provide you with as much information as I possible can. There is no way to precisely determine if infection is possible. Here is a great article which brushes on transmission risk: https://h-i-v.net/transmission-risks

Are you familiar with the window period for HIV?

  2. Alafia (Peace) We won't know if you are positive until you get tested. I would do that as soon as possible. If it's been longer than dates since the encounter PEP is off the table. Please get tested . Khafre (H-I-V.net Team Member)
