Starting my medication today

Today is my first day of starting my ART. I am curious about a few things.

1) My pharmacist said I couldn't skip the medication and must follow the medication daily at exact same time. Is there anything will happen if I am late in taking the medication by one hour?

2) What are the side effects of the ART (ART

  1. Hi there, I'm glad you're here and asked these questions. We can't give you personal medical advice about when to take your medicine (or if it's okay if it's an hour late) but we can give you some information that may be useful.

More on combination medications can be found here: https://h-i-v.net/treatment/cart and then specifically the medications you pictured here: https://h-i-v.net/treatment/atripla . These article outline side effects can how you can discuss them with your provider.

I like what advocate said about his own experience, "Never be afraid to engage and ask questions of your provider. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Your provider cannot help you with something that they don’t know about. I tell my provider everything. My provider knows that we are going to talk for more than a few minutes before I get up on the table for an exam. I encourage you to be proactive." 1. Alafia (Peace) I really appreciate you for sharing what I shared earlier. It is a good idea to take your meds on a schedule. It has been my experience that I had to relax and set some kind of timer which will remind you it's time to take my meds. Khafre (H-I-V.net Team Member)
