If I could ask an OBGYN anything it would be __________.

Comment with questions on menopause, pregnancy, surrogacy, breast/chestfeeding, ovarian cancer, birth control, menstruation, etc.

  1. I hear so many people in this community asking about cervical cancer, both risk factors and treatment. I know has written about that here: https://h-i-v.net/living/gynecological-health. , @any ideas for questions for an OB/GYN? - Liz (Team Member)

  2. How to stop hot flashes

    1. Hi , I'm not sure if the hot flashes you mention are related to menopause or not, but on the chance that they are, I wanted to share a couple of articles with you on this topic, https://h-i-v.net/living/effect-menopause and https://h-i-v.net/living/listen-to-body-menopause. I apologize if this information doesn't relate to your specific question, though. Have you spoken with your doctor about hot flashes? -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  3. How do you put so many women on birth control and NOT test them for HIV annually? Why do/did you only test straight women when they are pregnant? Then as we age how come WE have to educate you that we go through menopause at a younger age than negative women?

    1. Hi . These are such excellent questions and really go to the heart of what OBGYNs are learning (or not learning) in their training. My wife, Kelly, was diagnosed with a severe form of an autoimmune condition at age two. As she hit her mid-forties she had a heck of time finding any OBGYN help - anyone who knew what chronic conditions or long-time treatments that impact the immune system can do to a woman's reproductive system. Have you ever been able to find someone who understands? Best, Richard (Team Member)
