Hi everyone, I want to share with you my story and I m sure you ll understand my fear.
I had a full unprotected sex on 2006 with a sex worker and few weeks later all symptoms came out even joint pain that made my life horrible. I didn t have the courage to do the test but in 2018 I decided to accept the death sentence by doing a rapid test based on a drop of blood in an anonymous association here in Morocco. Couple of minutes later, big surprise « negative » maybe a mistake was made by the guy but I tried to accept the result. My joint pain specially on lower body, didn t leave me so far but I was trying to convince myself that s because of anxiety and the test was correct. So I forgot the matter and my life was good after that. But this year, I started thinking again and my joint pain came back but very very severe so I went to the same place to do the test thinking that the first one was an error and this time they’d say I have the hiv. Same situation, one drop of blood and the guy says that I m negative, I didn t see the result but I m sure he wouldn t lie for such a serious matter !
Well both tests were different antibody test kits (3rd and maybe the second one was 4th gen).
I still have pains and can t stand normally on my feet without having pain. So I want to know if those rapid tests are accurate cause I can t move on with « my life » ! Btw I m 37 yo male. Thanks for your patience.
you've gone through such a stressful testing experience with so many uncertianties. If I'm reading you correctly, you've had 2 HIV tests since an encounter in 2006 after which you had joint pain. The first rapid test (201😎 was negative, and then the more recent one is positive. Is that right?
I would say if you got a positive HIV diagnosis, getting treatment as soon as you can is very important. Did the clinic that tested you speak to you about starting treatment? I have been tested twice with rapid tests (one drop) in 2018 and 2023, both negative 🙏 Didn’t see the second result but the guy would’nt lie ! It was in a anonymous organization / association that provide rapid hiv testing. The problem is that I ve had all symptoms and still can’t get rid of it. I m doubting about results …
So your save if your negative, anyway you can re-make test again and double check to be sure your ok? I hope your negative. But what are symptoms which you mention?
everything bro from night sweat after exposure, fever, dirrhea, pain everywhere. I still have hard joint pain specially in lower body. Actually I have made two rapid tests in Alcs but still don t accept results
If test are negative, your negative and you have nothing to do with HIV, i myself haven t had any symptoms expect white tongue & snorking loudly while i am sleeping which everyone observe it due its extremely annoying, i believe you must do a check up or see a specialist doctor who might clarifiy what s going on with you? Don t worry much it s possiblity a mentally effect on what you thought so take it easy and relax, by the way where you based in morocco? If you message in private that would be cool as i need friends in my life due i am going through horrible preoid of my life
where you were tested ?? What about the job your seeking ? bro, can I ask after exposure within how many days/weeks you were tested positive ? I mean what was the window period for you ? mostly expert say that 4th generation test can detected HIV within 4-6 weeks. is it correct in your case ?
