Testing process

I tested positive 3 times. Twice at a clinic with rapid finger prick test antigen/antibody, and once with an rapid at home saliva test. They took a single vile of blood that would take several days to get the results.

Does this mean I'm HIV positive?

  1. , I hope we can help you get some information. HIV is never diagnosed with just one test, so it is good you are going through the process of verifying your results. If the final result does indicate you are HIV positive, then getting into treatment will be really important and we are here to help with that, along with many perspectives and stories about what it is to live a good and healthy life with HIV today.

I see in your other post you are asking about the types of test they are running. This article explains the tests: https://h-i-v.net/test-types

I hope this answers your questions. How long do you have to wait for the test results? Keep us posted, we are here for you. - Liz (Team Member)

    1. Good Afternoon Robb,

I work as an HIV Peer Counselor at a hospital, we perform rapid finger prick tests here. If it's positive we send clients to the blood lab to make sure of the results. 99% of them if they were positive they remain that way. Have you heard back from them yet?
