Treated poorly by an hiv doctor

Got treated poorly by HIV doctor

Today was my 3 month appointment after being newly diagnosed with HIV , I was trying to be more ready and I ask questions but all I found was bad treatment from the doctor that I would have to be under charge of her for well all my life .

1\\\_ First, I have been on Truvada and Dolutugravir for well 3 months now , after one month my viral load dropped from 50k to 210 , my cd4 was above 300 , I tried to ask and know the exact nomber , the rude doctor just dismissed my request and said it was above 200 so it doesn't matter

2\\\_ Also I'm getting switched from Dolutegravir to Raletgravir (which is an older regimen and needs to be taken twice a day), if anyone has been in similar situations let me know.

\\- I'm starting to hate how this is the 2nd time I'm being treated poorly by a doctor although I'm 100% sure I asked politely and all I wanted was to get to know the status of my immune system . I wanted to ask more but I was dismissed and now i just don't understand why I'm getting treated like this .

\\- From my understanding, yes our health system is terrible and these doctors see tens of patients a day and it's tiring yes but I don't see how it is my fault, otherwise what do you think ?

  1. Hi . Never feel bad about wanting your medical information or hesitate to advocate for yourself. People here understand it is not always easy. Our contributor wrote this two part article on his experience with self-advocacy: https://h-i-v.net/living/rude-doctor-interaction and https://h-i-v.net/living/request-new-doctor. Your test results belong to you and you deserve to be listened to and questions answered. Are test results available through a patient portal? Not that this would make it o.k. not to answer your questions and discuss full results, just wondering if this could be a work-around until you can get better direct replies.
